It’s wetter than an otters pocket! Rob Warner visits QECP!

Mountain biking legend Rob Warner visited QECP at the weekend to have a look at the work the Collective have done and see how it had changed since he won a NPS downhill race back in 1996. Rob, who now commentates on all World Cup mountain bike races for Red Bull, agreed to come down for an interview for the QECP documentary that Rupert is putting together. Dave, Paul (who beat Rob at the NPS in Moelfre in 2007 by 4 seconds!) and Chris from Exempt clothing took Rob on a tour around the new red trail at QECP. Despite the mud following the 5 weeks of rain, Rob enjoyed the trail and will be back to see how it runs in the dry.

There was a BBQ test run for Qe-palooza with Jamie knocking up some top notch “dench” burgers and pork shoulder on the BBQ which was washed down with some beer from the Collective’s latest sponsor, Irving Brewery. Martin did a excellent, beer fuelled interview with Rob, which will appear on this website in the near future.

A big thank you to Rob for coming down to see us and thanks to the guys who showed him around. It’s great to see such big figures in the industry giving time to people at the grassroots level. To honour Rob’s visit the guys at Exempt clothing gave Rob one of the Collective’s trail build t-shirts which we hope to see at some point at the World Cups and maybe at a dig 😉
