Back in the game!
Following 17 years of being in the downhill racing wilderness, QECP is back! QECP will stage round 4 of the Gravity Project DH Honey Series. The series, which proved so successful in 2012, will have five races held over four different venues – Gravity Project, Gravity Project 2 (still under construction), Rogate and QECP. The additions of QECP and GP2 will add and extra dimension to the expanding and competitive downhill scene in the south of England. It has yet to be confirmed whether Rob Warner will be back to defend his 1996 downhill king of QECP crown. Rumours are he is only willing to do it if he gets a stuffed toy, a free tattoo and is allowed to do it on a bike with an engine.
Practice will be on 1st June and race day on 2nd June 2013. Put it in your diary now and hopefully we won’t have to wait 17 years before the next race.
A big thank you to the guys at Gravity Project for agreeing to host a stage at QE and thanks to the guys in the Collective who had the vision and drive to get the ball rolling. 2013 looks like it will be another historic year for the Collective.
