World Police & Fire Games
Received this from the World Police and Fire Games which will be held in Belfast (and across other locations in Northern Ireland) August 1st – 10th this year.
To give you some idea of the scale of the Games, it will have up to 10,000 competitors from across the globe and is the 3rd largest multi-sport event in the world.
“Thousands of competitors from over 60 countries will be participating the WPFG , and the mountain biking on the new course is one we’re very proud of.
We’re hoping some of your web site visitors will be eligible to take part in the mountain biking or if not, will come over to Northern Ireland to try out the course.
The Mountain Biking events will include Cross Country and Downhill events on the recently opened world-class trails in Rostrevor Forest/Kilbroney Park which are featured in the video.
The track for Cross Country is approximately 4km long and includes natural technical single-track, fire road climbs and some fast trail centre single-track.
A lap takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
The Downhill track is on the more challenging course at the trail centre. It is approximately 1.4km long and a sub 2 minute run will be a fast time. The terrain is mainly rock/stone and is designed to be used in all conditions. There will be jumps and drops but these will be rollable
