QECP Day & Night Enduro – Thanks
Wow….what a race. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that helped with the race in any capacity, but ESPECIALLY all the marshals who volunteered to sit out in the park in the dark watching everyone else having so much fun. The event would have been impossible without you, thank you!! You all did amazing jobs in fairly testing circumstances (racing? in the dark?? madness!) and the fact that the event ran smoothly is pretty much all down to you. Also, thank you for getting in the spirit of the race with the heckling, encouragement and general friendly vibe that so many riders have mentioned really helped make the event special.
Another group who’s help and support made the whole thing possible are Hargroves Cycles who really pulled out all the stops to support the race and put a tremendous amount of trust in the Collective to put on a good show and not ruin their reputation, and the free beer was just the icing on the cake!
Of course, can’t forget the actual riders. If no one entered we would have felt pretty dumb sitting out there in the dark. Thanks for putting your faith in us to put on a successful event and that you were willing to part with your cash to ride somewhere you probably do for free a lot anyway! A lot of riders have also mentioned the camaraderie and friendliness of their fellow riders…another thing that makes an event special.
I think Scott sent one or two emails or something over the last few months so should probably get a thank you too 😉 Seriously, I’m not sure where he finds the time to do so much….I think there are actually about 5 Scott clones all working flat out….! He held the planning for the whole thing together and it it would probably have not happened at all if it were not for him!
And remember, ALL the proceeds from our events go directly towards the trail building at QECP, this and the Summer Enduro will go a long way to funding the planned new Blue descent.
My only regret is not actually being able to race, it looked like a right hoot!
Cheers, see you on the trails 🙂
